Why did Tori, Grant, and Kari let themselves be talked into doing this by the producer? They're adults, not children. They should've been able to withstand the peer pressure. What's the producer going to do, fire them? The ultimate onus of responsibility is the producer's yes, but the team should've not been talked into doing it. And it's obvious that Tori regretted it immediately.

They were not batteries. There are hundreds of examples if not thousands of jars with lead scrolls rolled up in them and sealed tops. They were spells and prayers. Very common in some periods.

I've been shocked by an electric fence twice and I can totally confirm the reaction they have here. It's a horrible feeling, it really does feel like someone takes a sledge hammer and slams it square into your chest. I feel bad that build team we're forced to do this by the dipshit producer, you could tell they really didn't want to, particularly Tory. I'm glad that the truth of it all came out though.

Discovery show or not they were in Jamie's shop. The Mythbusters were willing to do very dangerous experiments but not causally or on a lark. The subject, the physics, all possible variables accounted for. Every percussion taken. Driving a race car is very dangerous. Helmets, restraints, crumple zones, break away panels, fire retardant, special suit that withstands flames. Fire rescue on standby. Then they will do the experiment. I liked that once or twice on camera they have said nope, no one is getting in/on/under this rig. You don't play with electricity. It's not a prank. It's actually illegal. It's even one thing to say that why don't you try this dangerous thing? But not incoming someone and tricking them into it. Ok the shock isn't life threatening. What if Adam fell, slipped, cracked his head open?

That actually is genuinely dangerous because the electric current will go across the heart if you touch it with both hands like that. That could cause irregular rhythm and heart failure
